We finished last week strong and this week is sure to not disappoint! The best part of my job is getting to see all the cool things the students are learning about in Explore. Third grade students in Ms. Murphy's class and Ms. Werneke's class were very busy learning about pollution and what effects it has on our water supply. The students learned just how hard it is to clean oil, acid rain, fertilizer, litter, and eroded soil out of clean water. Each group came up with a plan on how to clean the water, and I saw some pretty creative plans. One group of students decided to filter their water through a sponge. I must say that they had some pretty clean water! A parent even commented about the unit, "my child has absolutely LOVED this session! She loves science, but has thoroughly enjoyed 'unpolluting water' this week and doing lexia and dream box at home. Thank you for making this summer session so fun!"
